Bobby Sands
Memorial

We had the honor of playing the annual "Bobby
Sands Memorial
" at the Irish Cultural Center in
Blauvelt, NY on Saturday, May 2nd.
As always, a wonderful job by Jimmy Teague and
AOH Div. 5, for the classy and important memorial
service reminding everyone of the what this man
gave...
For those not familiar with his story, Bobby was the
first hunger striker to give his life at Long Kesh
Prison in Northern Ireland, bringing world attention
to the atrocities being committed by the British
government against Catholics in Northern Ireland, as
well as the despicable Human Rights violations
ongoing in Long Kesh. (Amnesty International - a
British based organization- recognized these
atrocities).

Also present was Brian Pearson, himself a victim of
these same violations. A fine gentleman, who should
always remain on American soil.....
